What is an ICS file?
An ICS file (iCalendar format, RFC 5545) is a universal calendar file format supported by Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and most other calendar applications. It stores event details like title, date, time, location, and recurrence rules.
How do I add an ICS file to Google Calendar?
Download the .ics file, then in Google Calendar go to Settings → Import & Export → Import. Select your .ics file and choose which calendar to add it to. The event will be imported immediately.
Can I create recurring events?
Yes. Choose from Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly recurrence. The generated ICS file will contain an RRULE field that tells calendar apps to repeat the event on the specified schedule.
What reminder options are available?
You can set reminders at 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 day before the event. The reminder is added as a VALARM component in the ICS file.
