Are existing parameters preserved?
Yes. Non-UTM parameters and the # fragment are preserved. The five UTM fields are replaced with your values; empty optional fields remove the corresponding parameter.
Does this link track visits by itself?
No. The destination needs an analytics system configured to interpret UTM parameters. Use consistent names and avoid placing personal information in the parameters.
