Of the 13 mandatory holidays in 2026 (Labour Code, article 234), 9 fall on weekdays and 4 on a weekend: Easter Sunday (Domingo de Páscoa) on Sunday, April 5; Freedom Day (Dia da Liberdade) on Saturday, April 25; Assumption of Mary (Assunção de Nossa Senhora) on Saturday, August 15; and All Saints' Day (Dia de Todos-os-Santos) on Sunday, November 1. Portuguese law does not move a holiday to a weekday, so 2026 has 252 business days.

Easter 2026 is April 5, which puts Good Friday on April 3, Carnival Tuesday on February 17 and Corpus Christi (Corpo de Deus) on Thursday, June 4. Carnival is optional under article 235: whether you get it depends on your employer or on the government's yearly tolerância de ponto, so it is outlined, not filled.

With one day of leave as a bridge (ponte): New Year's Day (Ano Novo): Thursday, January 1 to Sunday, January 4, taking Friday, January 2 off; Corpus Christi (Corpo de Deus): Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 7, taking Friday, June 5 off; Restoration of Independence (Restauração da Independência): Saturday, November 28 to Tuesday, December 1, taking Monday, November 30 off; Immaculate Conception (Imaculada Conceição): Saturday, December 5 to Tuesday, December 8, taking Monday, December 7 off.

Municipal holidays are left out because each municipality has its own. In 2026 Lisbon's Santo António (June 13) falls on a Saturday and São João in Porto and Braga (June 24) on a Wednesday; turn on the notes column to add yours.

1. Pick a layout: the whole year on one sheet (for a wall or the fridge), one month per page (12 pages with room to write) or two months per page (6 pages).
2. Pick paper and orientation. A4 (210 × 297 mm, ISO 216) is preselected because it is the standard paper in Brazil and Portugal; switch to US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) if that is what your printer holds. The paper chosen here has to match the one in the print dialog, or the browser shrinks the page or clips the edge.
3. Press Print / Save as PDF. In the browser dialog keep scale at 100% ("Actual size") and turn off "Headers and footers" so the URL does not print on the page.
4. To keep a file instead of paper, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination. For a black-and-white printer turn on ink saver: holidays get a black outline instead of a blue fill.

Portuguese calendars start the week on Monday, as ISO 8601 does, so that is the default here. Switch to Sunday in the builder if you prefer.
